Saturday Night is Pizza Night!

I love Saturday night! I have been making homemade pizza every Saturday for the past 11 years. I know the recipe by heart and can promise you, it is so easy to do that you may never want to order out again.
I end up with three pizzas out of this recipe. Two are on round pizza stones and one is a larger rectangle stone. Here is the recipe for the crust:

2 cups warm water
2 teaspoons yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
6 cups of all purpose(unbleached) flour
2 Tablespoons good oil-I use Olive

-Add yeast, sugar and salt to water and proof(allow to get foamy) for 5 minutes.
-Add flour and oil and using the kneading hook on your mixer, knead for 5 minutes, or until dough cleanly pulls away from sides of bowl.
-Remove hook from bowl, bowl from mixer and cover for 1 hour.

That’s it! The yummiest crust ever. You can add seasonings like Italian seasoning, garlic or any other you desire to the crust before mixing.

After an hour, this crust is ready to be divided into individual crusts(I divide into three parts to fit my desired pizza pans).

Top with sauce, cheese and your choice of yummy toppings. Some extra seasonings and you can pop them into the oven-450 degrees, for about 15 to 20 minutes. Watch the first few times to see how long it takes in your particular oven.

Definitely delicious and super easy to make!

  • thanks for recipe … I like your new blog (the pizza looks really good) … nothing worse than a pizza thief but I suppose they'd probably get off in a law of court because it looks so good!

  • LOL I know just who it is..could be any one of them really. I have plenty of suspects. One of my favorite things about pizza nite is that Sunday breakfast is easy too. We just eat whatever is left over. Thanks for commenting!Amy
