The Barn

Baby Goat in Barn

It’s kidding season, 2021! It’s a slow start, but we are hopeful!

Welcome to the barn. We raise our own meat, milk, and eggs on the farm. It’s been a regular part of our lives for over 20 years and is an important connection for our family and our lives.

We raise chickens for eggs and meat, and dairy goats for milk, cheese, and companionship. Currently, we have Nubians. They are sweet and goofy, and kid-friendly without being too in your face about it. The long ears are just a cute bonus.

Going to the barn is the start and end of every day for me. It’s one of my favorite places to hang out and no matter how bad of a day I have, stepping through that barn door always makes me feel better.

Our barn is a greenhouse structure where my husband built stalls and a hay area. It works great and was pretty inexpensive but not so much that it’s ramshackle. I made a quick video tour:

See you soon!
