Bread Machine Baking: Dill Cottage Cheese Bread

This Dill Cottage Cheese Bread offers an irresistibly tender crumb, courtesy of the cottage cheese, which not only adds a rich depth of flavor but also ensures each slice is moist and soft. The subtle, herbaceous note of dill complements the slight tanginess of the cottage cheese, making this bread a delightful twist on your usual homemade loaf.

Dilly Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 4 cups AP flour(or bread flour if you have it)
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp dill seed, 1 Tbsp dill leaves-chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp fine ground pepper
  • 1 1/4 tsp active dry yeast

Instructions

  • Add ingredients according to your machine instructions. In my case, I add wet then dry.
  • Select the white bread setting. The crumb is ‘very’ tender. A light crust setting would be best for this.
  • If you have an electric knife, you can cut this while warm, but if not, allow it to cool before slicing.
